WELCOME MESSAGE

Dear Members Delegates, DGS Participants and Guests,

The European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI) and the Hellenic Deposit & Investment Guarantee Fund (TEKE) are pleased to welcome you to the EFDI Annual General Meeting and International Conference 2022 scheduled to take place in Greece, on the Island of Rhodes. The 3-day event will be hosted in the Sheraton Rhodes Resort from Wednesday 25 May till Friday 27 May 2022.

After two years of virtual meetings, 2022 EFDI AGM & International Conference offers the opportunity for the EFDI community and friends to meet in person in Rhodes. Your physical presence would be much appreciated, so that we can enjoy the collegial atmosphere of EFDI meetings. We are currently setting up a hybrid format with virtual attendance for participants unable to travel.

This year the main theme of the Conference is “New Challenges and Disruptions in the financial safety-net”. Five panels will be convened, in interview format, with Q&A around topics of Financial Innovation, Digitalisation, Regulation, Disruptions of the environment, Cyber-risk and data protection. The panels will explore how the European DGSs and ICSs prepare for the different challenges stemming from either the innovative technologies, climate change or posed by the changing regulations.

The Conference will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 26 and Friday 27 May.

The event will conclude on Saturday 28 May with an optional excursion to the acropolis of Lindos, an archaeological site and fishing village at the southeast of Rhodes.
